It was your resounding cry for "before" and "after" pictures that has me gleefully skipping to my friendly neighborhood Sherwin Williams store this morning.
I'm usually a Home Depot Behr paint girl, but I'm not loving any of the blues they offer, so Sherwin Williams seems the next logical step.
I'm looking for a lovely, soft, powdery blue for my formal living room. Right now it is army green.
Behold...
A nice enough green, I suppose, but sooooo not my style. I'm trying to be nice here. And we won't speak of the Pergo. I have strong feelings about Pergo. I am a flooring snob as you will see in a later post. I can't help what I like, people.
So, consider this your "before" picture. If all goes as planned, you will soon have an after picture to accompany it.

Can't wait to see the results.
Congrats on finally making it to the heat! I know you've been needing this!
I can't wait to see what you're going to do. I'm sure it will be awesome...just like you.
Hugs....Summer
Yay! I love decorating before and afters!! And I always use Sherwin Williams Paints. Their Pro-Mar paints in a eggshell finish are SUPER easy to maintain and crayon, marker, etc. can usually be cleaned off the walls without a lot of effort.
Can't wait to see how it works!! My living room is kind of a powdery blue, but it's a mix of paints so I have no idea what color to call it. The original color I got back then was too bright, so we took some other paint colors and self-mixed to get the right color.
Good luck!!
I like the green :-) It is sort of the color we have on the kids playroom in the basement...but maybe ours is a little lighter. And the floor looks nice in the pic...but I know what you mean. Sometimes when you walk on it...it feels "fake."
I can't wait to see the after!
I, too, like the green. But then, I also like laminate floors. Wilsonart is much more durable than Pergo though.
Over here in Hawaii, ground termites are such a problem that no one in their right mind would put real hardwood floors, unless they want to cal "here temites, DINNER!"
I am really into blue right now too. Can't wait to see the end result!
What does it say about me that I really like that green? ;o)
I love after photos...bring em on!!
I love blue. Can't wait to see how it all looks.
I love greens, but I also love blues. I think a nice blue with an ocean theme would be pretty.
And I HATE pergo. If you want hardwood, just get hardwood. Seriously. And it annoys me when people act like there is no difference. It's like buying a Kia and acting like it's a Cadillac. I mean, really? Who are they kidding!
I'd love a blank canvas to redecorate! Blue sounds so peaceful.
I can't wait to see the after ...
I have a b/a coming soon too!!!
Cant wait to see it!!!
I am looking forward to the after:-)
Wait, is that the outline of a SOFA on the far wall?!?!
We'll be watching!!!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished room. I love paint. I'm looking for the perfect "Tiffany Blue" for my daughter's room. Good luck!
Yeah, I love that room. So if that's the before...I can't wait to see the after!
I'm so excited that you've finally made it down to the blazing hot valley of the sun and are getting all settled in! This room's going to look awesome when you're all finished!
I'm so jealous....I want a new house to redecorate!
Can't wait to see the after pictures.
I'm so glad to hear that you are liking AZ.
I visited once my sophomore year in high school but it's way to hot for me.
I also turned to Sherwin Williams for a blue when we repainted our bathroom. Behr BLUES need improvement, for sure. Someone asked me if my engineered hardware floors were pergo. I have to admit that it was sort of offensive. So, I pointed out the stratches. They were so clueless they didn't know Pergo doesn't scratch.
Is that cat pee pee gone yet?
I know it's therapy for you...
paint, paint, paint away.
And the blue will make it feel rather Parisian, no? Awesome.
Hello Heather,
I came to your blog via an email from my friend Trish, who is also a friend of yours I hear.
I am your new neighbor! To the east. I've been out of town and feeling bad I haven't been over to meet you and your family.
Just thought I'd take a minute to say hello and I'll be back tomorrow, so hopefully I can get my act together quickly and come say hi.
Mandy
I have done this so many times...
That looks like an awesome breakfast nook... I wouldn't want it as a formal dining room cause I would always want to eat in there!! Not that you can't always eat in a formal dining room.
Anywho... I LOVE the green. I am a green girl. Well, not literally. I'm more peach.
But I love the color green. ANd blue too. Like, the awesome pale steel blue that looks almost grey...
Ok then. Could I possible be more annoying in this comment?
Blessings-
Amanda
Blue! I'm so glad to realize I know another blue person! Our kitchen and a bathroom are Behr saltwater, and it turns out a friend of ours painted her bathroom that identical color. What were the chances of that? Cinnamony, huh? Makes me hungry for some coffee cake! Glad you're on your way to home sweet home!
Definitely a nice green, but blue would be pretty too. Can't wait to see the "after" photo!
