An indulgent song choice.

As Simon often tells the AI contestants in his British accent, "I think that was a rathah indullllgent song choice."

I am going to write a rathah indulllllgent post today.

Because my head will explode if I don't.

And no one wants to see that.

There is so much going on and while it's exciting, my brain starts going a mile a minute and it just. won't. stop.

It's not condusive at all to getting any laundry done. To his credit, PB hasn't said a word. So, let's start with laundry.

Then there's...

floors to mop
kids on spring break to entertain
breakfasts, lunches, and dinners to make
groceries to be bought
menus to be made
budgets to revise
walls to paint
furniture to paint
curtains to make
moms to pick up at airports
sheets to change
snuggles to give
books to write
blogs to write
blogs to read
proposals to go over
pools to build
weeds to spray
bushes to prune
wreaths to make
cut-off shorts to hem
hairs to cut
passports to apply for
closets to clean out
pictures to take
carpets to vacuum
kitchens to redecorate
scorpions to kill
weights to lift
water to drink
Bible studies to attend
doctors to visit
Easter eggs to dye
toes to pedicure
Keurig's to bring back to life
paperworks to fill out
boo boo's to kiss

not enough coffee on the planet

The thing is. I'm happy. Sometimes it makes me crazy, but right now it's all good. It's all happy and the weather here is in the 80's. The birds are chirping and things are blooming and flip flops have been purchased.

The trick is to keep it all organized and not let it get crazy.

Hence the rambling post about things I have to do.

"Better out than in, I always say." ~Shrek

Very indullllgent post, indeed.

Thank you.

Nice list....makes you a well rounded individual!

You already took the first step - create the list. Now, put numbers for priorities and start marking off the list as you do them! There's something very satisfying about lining through the list. :)

That is a long list! I find that the busier I am during the day the more satisfied I feel when its over.

What are some of the ways you stay organized when you have so many things to accomplish?

Tracie said...

That is a big list....but it seems doable =) Some of the things are big time takers, but some of them are little and quick.....and all of them will be more fun while wearing flip flops!

I often say, we're having about as much fun around here as we can survive! I'm so glad your new surroundings are agreeing with you!!

There its out, stop worrying about it.

If only it were that easy, right?

Susie said...

That is the trick:-)

When you look at it that way isn't it overwhelming? The lists never end when you are young and have children. Good luck checking them all off.

You see...this is why Moms are great. We can see this list and then take a deep breath and go do it. Weaker (wo)men would stumble over themselves trying to run away from such craziness!

I think it's something in the air during this time of the year. I, too, feel overwhelmed but very happy. It's an even better feeling than around the turn of the New Year for me. Thanks for sharing your list..it reminded me of what mine will look like all too soon. We have a baby due in June and kids seem to multiply to do's!

Amy said...

Your list puts mine to shame! But you've inspired me to at least put my list out there in the open and start crossing off the tasks - that's the best part - being able to cross something off once it's been accomplished!

Holy cow, that's a lot of stuff to do!

It's the days filled like this that are the very best, because when you sit down at the end of the day, you can say "Damn I'm tired" and you actually know why!

WestSacHoney said...

Oh wonderful lists it's so much anxiety of the big list but really what would you do otherwise? I love lists!

AmericanTribal said...

Wow... that is a rather large list! The thing that suck with me was "Scorpions to kill." I'm not sure if that's because it sounds brave, or if it's because I'm a Scorpio, but that's what stuck :P.

I'm glad you're happy! Sometimes, kissing boo boos and things like that can be fun!

those kids on spring break to entertain have the potential to create a whole other list of things to clean up! the paint, the playdoh, the batman action figures (or barbies) the spilled alphabet soup, the mess on the bathroom floor that we will pretend is water (boys!)....need i go on?

have fun withh the Pedi and the easter eggs.

I know how you feel! My life is absolutely nutty at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

This is exactly how I feel at the moment. Lots to do...but happy.

Where's, "Gladiators to watch!" on this list?

Seriously, Heather. Priorities!

Charlene said...

Not indulgent. I love reading other people's to do lists cuz ya know, I don't have to do it! :-)

Organization is definitely key!

The hubs is a bad influence on me. "Be happy if you get one thing done." I'm like, "what?" How 'bout one thing after another, yeah. I feel guilty if all I get done for the day is yoga. Wait, no, no I don't.

I also have a list as long as my arm!

SITS!
as a mother, writer, blogger, tweeter, fb'er, webmaster, reader, sitter, knitter, dishwasher, laundry-er, and all that jazz - i heart your post because you say all that and then "I'm Happy" Thanks for allowing my indulllgent comment. ;)

Clicked through from the SITS site today. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with a list longer than Santa Clause! If only he'd start checking off my list!
