A buffet of blog fodder

Life is screaming by at lightening speed.

Lightening, I tell ya.

And it doesn't look like it's going to slow down anytime soon.

I have some pictures to show you...but I've put my little camera download cable in my super special place with my two other mail keys and retainer from high school.

Le sigh.

So in the meantime, because this is how I roll lately and it's in keeping with my Mindless Junque theme, I have some topics to discuss.

Brett Michaels in intensive care due to a brain hemorrhage:
As COMPLETELY inappropriate as it is to make any sort of light of this situation, I'm finding it hard to hold myself back. It's not that I think it's funny at all. It's actually really, very sad. I had better move on quickly.

I finally saw Avatar:
The special effects were very cool and the colors were pretty. And I feel awesome about being a self serving consumer who, according to James Cameron, delights in annihilating indigenous flora and fauna. I could get VERY controversial here, so we'll move on from that too.

And in keeping with the science fiction/fact news, Steven Hawking says aliens are bad for us:
He says they will be yellow with horrible stingers (no lie) and will rape our planet of all it's natural resources. Who's killing indigenous species now, HUH Mr. Cameron??

And speaking of yellow aliens with stingers:
Yeah, this was on my front porch as I opened the door to a guy who just happened to be in the area spraying for scorpions. Do you think he was planted there? Perhaps.

YIKES! Spraying for scorpions? I read that about Stephen Hawkings too. Even if they look like ET we should stay clear of them??! But if he's pretty certain they're yellow with horrible stingers... ok...

Oh poor Brett.

And I have not seen Avitar yet. Its on my list of things to do.

Soon.

Really yikes to the scorpion..

I really don't want to like Brett Michaels but he is growing on me in the Apprentice.

As for Avatar, I hated that man is the bad guy....again. I bought it too but should have helped save a tree and said no.

I think that I would have fainted if I had seen a scorpion by my house, especially since I live in Kansas and that is a rare sighting.....

Did not love Avatar so much, but then, I'm not one to like blue aliens, or any alien. Hmmmm.

How's the pool coming?

Heather I have been following your blog for a little while and love it. Thanks so much for making me laugh and smile...
the scorpion cracks me up!!!!! for sure the man planted that little guy there. YUCK. So I must know, did you have him spray???

I fell in love with Bret Michaels when I was in High School. His whole situation is kinda sad.

And I'm pretty sure that scorpion was planted. :)

That bug is so freaky! That totally freaks me out.

I haven't seen Avatar, but I hear it is great as well as very controversial. I probably wont see it until we get it for Christmas.

I don't know if you ever though of this, it too me forever to figure it out, but I recently figured out that I can take my memory card out of my camera and stick it in my computer to download the pictures. I figured it out after my cord went missing as well.

I can't know them...the scorpions. The ones at your house, not the rock band.

Well, those Scorpions, too.

Avatar-Schmavatar. You know I wanted to go rip up a buncha trees after seeing that mess. I'll move on, too.

I'm sad for Bret and I hope he recovers soon.

Fun blog!!! I haven't seen Avatar yet. I guess I'm going to have to break down and see it, just so I'll know what everyone's talking about.

I am going to make light...I know I shouldn't...but perhaps the brain hemmorage was caused by the HORRID extensions he has weaved into his own hair??? Maybe they sewed a little too deep?

Ok...in all seriousness...hate to see him ill...but...ahem...that was funny...you have to admit it!

Whoa...that's quite a scorpion...did the remover guy have snake oil too? ;) I loved Avatar for the love story and the effects...but the plot line was a little hard to swallow. I felt like a bad sky person!!

Holy! Mother! Of! God!!! You have a freaking SCORPION on your blog. Keep those darned things on your porch from now on, wouldja?? Sigh....

Sidenote: I thought scorpions were black. Does the sun bleach them then? (I'm Canadian. Forgive me.)

Scorpions - YUCK! Was in the sauna at the spa (very indulgent weekend) and saw one. My friend killed it with her spa-supplied slipper. And all they gave us? New slippers for her. I'm thinking scorpion in the sauna = free massage?!

Don't get me started on James Cameron...

Yew!!!! Scorpions???? I don't think I would be okay with that at all. Nor am I okay with that pic of Bret Michaels, though I do love the man and have seen Poison in concert probably 6 times throughout my life. Oh, wow, that is so not cool...

Just saying hey and how much I love you guys and am loving my awesome SITS day...you're right, this is amazing!

Thanks for everything darlin'.

Hilarious. Stephen Hawking is the king of freaks...who knows, maybe he has insider information because HE is an alien!

I can't imagine living with scorpions. We have ticks out here in the sticks, but scorpions would be like ticks on steroids and then some. Ewww!

I'm a new follower - I love your blog! That picture of the scorpion sure is creepy! If you have time, stop on by my blog I'm doing a little giveaway today...

we live in a house that sees at least 5 scorpions per year inside, down from 15 a few years ago. Scary little things, I only got stung once but that was enough for me to walk around killing them with an axe after that. If anyone tells you they can spray FOR scorpions, they are lying to you. You can only get rid of the scorpions food source (other bugs) so that they will go away and find food at someone elses house.

You are strong chick. If I saw one of those scorpions in front of my door I wouldn't be writing this right now as I would be in a mental institution.
